If, due to restricted space, use of a conventional electric motor is not possible, a pancake motor or disc motor can be used. This motor is characterized by an exceptionally compact design and a low weight, while at the same time a very high torque is available.
On the motor side an electromagnetic park brake can be installed, which is braking when the current is off.
